We, in SIN, have been carrying out research to get the views of patients and family members. We are continuing with that research with a circulation of almost 19,000 questionnaires in the Waterford city region. The response rate to this project will determine whether we extend this to other parts of the country. This questionnaire can also be accessed on this website.

In order to get a full perspective on the problem of HCAIs, we have now prepared a questionnaire to be circulated to health care workers (doctors, nurses, care assistants, physiotherapists, etc. and administrators). This will be happening over the coming months, and the questionnaire is here on our website. We are interested in getting the responses of as many people as possible. Heath care workers and administrators are the vital backbone of the health service, and so far, their views on the important subjects of HCAIs have not been given a lot of attention. We aim to correct this.
